At Al Boenker Insurance, we value teamwork and discipline. It maximizes performance and is the winning formula for success. These characteristics are important in all aspects of life and we believe there’s no better way to develop these skills than with sports. In order to instill these values into the community, we’ve decided to partner with the Arlington Parks and Recreation department to help sponsor the city’s youth athletic program.
Last weekend, Al Boenker Insurance helped usher in the opening day for the youth soccer season by donating over 7,000 jerseys and 200 youth soccer scholarships via the EcoMedia CBS ad program. It was an honor to see the joy and excitement on every single child’s face as they received their new “Thanks Al” uniforms. The day turned out to be a tremendous success as hundreds of families came out to support this meaningful cause. To see so many kids working together, learning leadership and communication skills while participating in healthy athletic competition was an amazing sight to behold. Our Chief Marketing Officer, Trey Morris, was a keynote speaker at the event, where he talked about the importance of supporting youth sports and giving back to the community. We were also pleasantly surprised with a generous gift from the parks and rec department. After the ceremony, they presented us with a framed signed jersey to commemorate their thanks for Al Boenker’s generous contributions to the program.
We believe that youth sports are an essential part of every child’s life. It teaches values and lessons that few other activities can at that age. Children can learn that with practice, preparation and hard work, anyone can overcome adversity and achieve their goals. Even the negative aspects of athletic competition can turn out to be beneficial. In sports and in life, everyone loses and fails at some point. By experiencing failure, one can learn to improve from their mistakes and gain perspective. Not only are youth sports a great means of developing character values, but they also keep kids healthy and active. Today’s youth is consumed by technology that usually prevents them from doing any outdoor activities. This results in isolation that can lead to physical, behavior and psychological disorders. Youth sports helps tackle this issue by engaging kids in physical activity that can stimulate growth and enhance one’s emotional and physical health. Studies also show that playing youth sports can have a positive crossover in the classroom. Children who play sports tend to experience better academic success, which leads to a lower chance of dropping out and a higher chance of getting into college. By partnering with the Arlington Parks and Recreation department, we hope that we can give the kids in our community a chance to experience these valuable life lessons while staying active and having fun at the same time. Our customers mean the world to us, and there’s nothing that makes us happier than to give back and serve our community. At Al Boenker Insurance, our desire is to help make a difference by enriching social good.
It’s our responsibility to ensure that today’s children have the resources and opportunities to grow, learn and thrive for a better tomorrow. To make sure that they’re a part of something special that builds character and discipline. Every child deserves the opportunity to play, to be part of a team, to celebrate, and to be celebrated. That is the reason why we’re supporting the Arlington Parks and Recreation Youth Sports Leagues – to help ensure that everyone’s in the game.
